obama set the bar pretty low. we also 6 unemployment for those 25-55 at the lowest rate we've seen in 30 years. so the bar has been set low but i believe the country deserves a much brighter path. what we'll hear governor romney is reducing the outrageous growth and spending and frankly rolling back the regulatory price tag that this economy has been absorbing. you see an increase of about 279% in the number of major versus the bush. each of a price tag hundred million dollars a year. >> heather: i want to give you a chance to respond. president obama he is the incumbent president in this race. let's take a look at economic numbers. since president obama took office in january of 2009 the u.s. government has implemented more fiscal stimulus and monetary intervention than ever before. g.d.p. has slowed from 2.4% to 12% in 2011 and only 1.6% in first half of 2012. first three that recovery has added 6.7% to g.d.p. and unemployment stuck above 8% and as you heard nancy, 25% of americans age 25-55 still need a job. so

>> do you know that mccain beat obama on election day, and obama got it in early voting. >> things can change overnight with a great debate performance, but again, mark hallprin, time is running out. >> he's still behind in too many places to win. he doesn't have as of today an obvious electoral college path, and he's not going to make it up on the ground with enthusiasm anymore. >> let's bring it kristen welker at the white house for you. by the end of the mow, 30 states are casting early absentee ballots, that includes five battleground states. is the president's team confident they can keep governor romney from closing the gaps as we see in the polls as of today? >> good morning, alex. i think the obama team is confident but they're cautious. they're six weeks until election day. that's a lifetime when it comes to politics. folks have already started to turn out for early voting. we have a graphic of what we've seen so far. it shows that obama campaign supporters are actually leading right now in terms of voter turnout as compared to romney supporters. i've spoken with officials wit

we will hear from obama. initially, we saw this in the polls, this has resonated, their traditional scare seniors about medicare tactics. that has been working really well. so i think obama will bring that up. one thing we will hear is the phrase that romney would end medicare's guarantee, which is a phrase the democrats have liked to use recently. we have raided that half-true for two reasons. one, it is not like it really has a guarantee now. congress can change the medicare benefits any time it wants to. it frequently has. now, romney would change the structure in which people would pay for medicare. it would go from being -- it would turn into the essentially a voucher plan. in that sense, we found some truth and rated it as half- truth. >> thank you, bill. our next prediction from glenn kessler, checker of facts, awarder of pinocchios. what will we see? >> i have two. they both deal with medicare. one thing i always say, the more complicated a subject is, the more susceptible it is stretching the truth.

barack obama is 6'1" and 175. romney is a little more plotting as a fighter, a little bit more mechanical. obama perhaps a little lighter but maybe not punching quite as hard. if you're looking for a fight scorecard, look at those metrics to start. one other thing that i think is important to remember in this. you talk about the advantage of presidency, but there's a disadvantage, which is a rhetorical strength barack obama didn't have the last time he debated. anything he says about a foreign country can be judged in diplomatic terms when he talks about issues and congress. these are blow up. he knows too much in a way and has to figure out how to bring back the knowledge set to what he says publicly both from a legal and sort of intelligence standpoint and also just from a good politicliolitical standpoi. >> he knows too much. >> jonathan, i think i can count on you to be objective with me. some would argue that obama has been given something of a pass on his record over the past year, and this might be the firs
